Our Services
Our Service Offering
We offer Mechanical Design, Electrical Design and Building Services Consultancy across all sectors of the construction industry.
We work on projects from single dwellings through to large mixed-use, multi-storey, high-rise developments from feasibility stage through to handover and beyond.
Electrical Services Design
We utilise the latest industry standard software and technologies to calculate, verify, model and optimise our electrical services designs.
Through use of industry standard software including; AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Relux, Dialux and MagiCAD, our engineers can provide a comprehensive design solution for almost any practical application of electrical building services.
Mechanical Services Design
We utilise the latest industry standard software and technologies in our Mechanical services designs.
We understand that project requirements vary and so we use a combination of; AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, TAS and MagiCAD to produce our designs to the required level of detail.
With these tools we can calculate, design, model, simulate and verify all of our mechanical systems designs.
Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
We view buildings not as static structures, but more as a space that needs to be able to adapt to environmental changes and usage patterns. To this end, we consider design resilience from the very outset of all projects.
As a single disciplinary consulting engineers practice, we are focussed on delivering building services solutions driven by value, comfort and long term sustainability. Our core service offers and areas of expertise include:
- Mechanical Engineering Design
- Electrical Engineering Design
- Lighting Design
- Public Health Design
- Condition surveys and site surveys
- Energy and communications infrastructure design
- Feasibility studies
- Planning support
- Post occupancy evaluation
Lighting Design
Executed well, lighting draws the eye to features and accents, both inside and out, frames artwork and contributes to the well-being of occupants. Such results can’t be achieved in isolation so we work closely with the architect to understand the effects and ambience they aspire to.
The little details can make the greatest impact and we take great care to get our luminaire selection spot-on; from specifications and finishes to colour rendering, beam angles and control systems, maximising the role of natural daylight throughout. We can supply rendered models visualising our schemes, bringing them to life in 3D.
Surveys
Our experience of surveys is all-encompassing; from acquisition, condition and dilapidation surveys to due diligence and fund monitoring responsibilities. In addition, we have undertaken numerous monitoring schemes on base-build services for tenants, as well as ongoing monitoring of installations against the employers requirements for developers and fund managers. Our knowledge of current commercial benchmarks, specifications and supply chain performance criteria is extensive. We present the observations of every survey in a concise report with recommended solutions.
It's personal.
When we embark on a project journey, we are making a commitment to the client and each other.

Soft Landings
The general consensus within the industry is that buildings in operation do not perform as well as they could/should. There is often a clear gap between predicted performance and achieved performance that results in part, from short comings in briefing and construction and in part from poor operation.
A soft-landings strategy is an approach designed to ensure the transition from construction to occupation is turbulence-free and that operational performance is optimised.
The transition from construction to occupation is something that needs to be considered throughout a project, not just when hand-over is imminent.
Parkbourne construct soft-landing strategies and continually update and revise those throughout the course of a project in order to be fully prepared when hand-over arrives. There is a generic soft landings framework that Parkbourne adopt and then adapt to each project;
Inception and Briefing
- Ensuring that the clients’ needs and required outcomes are clearly defined.
- Design development & review.
- Reviewing comparable projects & assessing proposals in relation to facilities management & building users.
Pre-Handover
- Ensuring operators properly understand systems before occupation.
Initial Aftercare
- Stationing a soft landings team on site to receive feedback, fine tune systems and ensure proper operation.
Extended Aftercare and Post-Occupancy Evaluation
- Outstanding issues are resolved and post occupancy evaluations are fed back for future projects.
